Bio: This March, I will be participating in Wake 'N Shake!, the annual 12-hour danceathon Wake Forest University hosts in honor of Brian Piccolo, a Wake Forest alumni who played for the Chicago Bears for four years and passed away at age 26 from embryonal cell carcinoma. In addition to supporting the Brian Piccolo Foundation for cancer research, I will be dancing for a friend's mother who passed away from pancreatic cancer, Kristin Crowley, as well as a close family friend, Jim Even. Mr. Even had known my dad since 1984 and was a groomsman in his wedding. For four years he had been battling stage 4 stomach cancer with chemo treatment every two weeks and, despite all of his experiences, embodied a deep determination, patience, and resilience which were an inspiration to all of us, particularly my dad. Although Mr. Even passed away last June, his loving family and friends will continue to cherish and honor his memory. Furthermore, please join me in donating to the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund to help researchers, patients like Jim Even and Kristin Crowley, and their families in the fight against cancer.
